About New Hope

New Hope United Methodist Church is a community of faith rooted in legacy, shaped by grace, and moving forward in ministry. For generations, New Hope has served as a place of worship, fellowship, care, and community witness in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Our History

Our History

New Hope United Methodist Church has been a place of faith, family, worship, and community witness for generations. Rooted in the rich tradition of the Black Church and the connectional life of The United Methodist Church, New Hope has stood as a spiritual home where people have gathered to pray, worship, serve, and grow in faith.

Across the years, New Hope has been shaped by faithful pastors, committed lay leaders, devoted families, and generations of members who believed in the mission of the church. Their prayers, sacrifices, service, and stewardship helped build the foundation on which the church stands today.

As New Hope continues to honor its history, we also recognize that God is still calling the church forward. Under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Malachi J. Alexander, New Hope has entered a renewed season of ministry marked by vision, structure, stewardship, and community engagement.

Through Forward 2025: Legacy. Leadership. Launch., New Hope began strengthening its internal systems, clarifying leadership responsibilities, updating policies, improving communication, and preparing for renewed ministry growth.

Through Forward 2026: Growth. Discipleship. Community., the church is continuing this work by focusing on membership growth, children and youth ministry, young adult engagement, seasoned saints ministry, stewardship, outreach, and digital presence.

The Forward Together Initiative continues this movement by helping New Hope improve its website, branding, communication tools, giving visibility, and public presence in the community.

New Hope’s story is still being written. We give thanks for the faithfulness of those who came before us, and we move forward trusting that God is doing a new thing among us.

New Hope is a church with a legacy behind us, leadership among us, and a launch before us. Thriving for over 154 years

Forward Together Initiative

The Forward Together Initiative is part of New Hope’s commitment to use resources wisely, increase community visibility, and strengthen ministry impact. Through this initiative, New Hope is investing in website redevelopment, digital communication, branding, marketing, stewardship visibility, pew engagement tools, QR codes, and community outreach strategies.

Forward Together reflects our belief that ministry must be both faithful and strategic. We are not simply maintaining the church. We are preparing New Hope to serve this present age and the generations to come.
