Pastor Michael Carpenter came to New Hope in June, 2003, with Teresa, his wife of nineteen years, and two daughters, Amanda and Anna Kathryn. Michael served the four-church charge, The Princeton Circuit, for three years, and then moved to Chestnut Grove for seven years, before coming to New Hope. Michael is not only a pastor to our church but a minister to the community. He serves on various committees in the community, volunteers his time at New Hope School, and looks to help those who may be in special need. Michael is a spiritual leader who, we pray, you may have the opportunity to join with us in service and fellowship in the Body of Christ at New Hope United Methodist Church.

The choir at New Hope UMC is a very integral part of worship. The choir welcomes anyone who has the desire to sing and be a part of a fun group. The choir is directed by Stan Phillips and music is provided by pianist Deborah Starks-Ragler. Choir practice is each Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. We are always looking for new members and would love for you to join us.

Our Outreach Program is served by various ministries within the church.  We host birthday parties each month at South Hampton nursing home in Owens Cross Roads, visit the elderly and shut-ins, collect food and supplies for various organizations in the area and abroad, and perform many other tasks to reach out and show the community we care. We are always looking for new help and new ideas.
